Introduction |
Cordoba was once the principal city of two of Spain's most influential rulers; The Romans and The Moors. The awe inspiring mosque is the most beautiful ever built in Spain
and is a building of extraordinary mystical powers. It is so huge, it actually has a
catholic cathedral built inside! The old Jewish quarters surround the Mezquita in a fascinating network of streets and colourful patios, similar to an Arab souk,
with busy bars and restaurants serving
local cuisine and delicious tapas. In medieval times it was the centre of European brilliance and religious tolerance, today it is a charming city to wander around the historical streets, relax on the banks of the Río Guadalquivir and mix with the locals in the lively plazas
at night which offer flamenco performances and dancing till the early hours.
Cordoba is world famous for its Festival de Patios where each May proud
owners open up their stunning Andalucían houses and patios for all to
see. |

We had a marvellous time. The itinerary and hotels were
superb. All went like clockwork. Cordoba was the jewel - had high
expectations of The Alhambra which were met but knew little about Cordoba or
the Mezquita and was just blown away! Thanks for everything Nicola. A great
success and thank you for your help. |
