Introduction
Madrid is probably Europe´s most passionate city where all that is truly Spanish is paraded in style. There are no instantly recognizable land marks such as Big Ben or the Eiffel Tower to head directly to but in only a short stay you can delve a little bit deeper and uncover a lot of what the city has to offer. The art of living the good life has been perfected by the Madrileños - Madrid is a way of life, and our introduction to the city will leave you feeling part of the scene and maybe never wanting to leave!
3 night Madrid itinerary
Day One
Arrive to Madrid and transfer to your hand - picked hotel in the historical centre of the city. Your personally prepared guide pack that accompanies your trip will be waiting for you in reception.
Guided walking tapas tour
For your first evening in Madrid you will meet up with a small group of people, to have a guided tour of the city's best tapas bars. The tour is great fun and gives you the opportunity to experience first hand with a local, the most atmospheric tapas bars of Madrid, also learning about its gastronomy, culture and history.
Our guide offers you a personal and friendly service, combining an introduction to the real Madrileño lifestyle with traditional Spanish food and drink. Not just a tapas tour, the aim is to leave clients with a real and lasting feeling for the capital and its people, while eating and drinking really well, and to prepare them for the rest of their stay in and around the capital.
Day Two
Walking tour of the Madrid city sights and a visit inside the Royal palace
To continue your discovery of Madrid, this morning you will meet with a guide for a walking tour of the city and a visit inside the stunning Royal Palace. Learn of the city's past and how it has shaped the capital city you see today. You will walk past such well known sights as the Monumento de la Encarnacion; through famous squares such as Plaza de Oriente and the Puerta de la Operal, plus stop a while for a drink in the very centre point of Spain The Puerta del Sol.
Madrid's Royal Palace was built in the 18th century on the site of an ancient alcazar (Arab-fortress) in the classical Italian baroque style. It is one of the most beautiful and best preserved palaces in Europe.
You will then have a free afternoon to further explore where you can choose from your guide pack to the city the things you would like to see and do.
Flamenco Show
For this evening we will book you a table at the legendary Tablao Flamenco "Torres Bermejas", where over the years the greatest names in flamenco have performed. You will be entertained by an internationally renowned flamenco group of more than 20 artists, making your visit a night to remember.
There is also the option to have dinner with the show.
Day Three
Visit to The Prado Museum
No visit to Madrid is complete without a visit to The Prado Museum, which features one of the world's best examples of European art from the 12th to the early 19th Century. Exhibits include important paintings from Valazques, Goya and El Greco. Your tickets will be booked in advance and included in your guide pack so you can avoid the queues. If museums are your thing then you can continue your cultural agenda with a visit to the Reina Sofia, Madrid's National Museum which features works by Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali.
Free afternoon and evening
Your time will now be free to explore and with all you now know about the city you should be able to experience many hidden corners of the city that other tourists never quite reach!
Day Four
Depart Madrid

Thank you for arranging a really marvellous holiday. ALL your plans worked out perfectly with smooth connections and easy directions, we had no difficulties or hassles. We loved having the strain taken away without feeling organised. (I know we were organised but it was a gentle touch!!)

We arrived home a week ago and have not had time to email you. Usual excuses! The holiday you organized went like clockwork! Everyone was most helpful and couteous. The places we visited were superb and we benefited from the guided tours in Granada and Seville, they were able to bring some local colour to the sites. All the hotels were comfortable and charming in their different ways, clearly all well situated and within easy walking distance of anything and everything.
